Description
Opening a bottle from this little distillery on Scotland’s West Coast gives you a whisky with genuine personality. It originates from the town of Oban, which was constructed around the distillery, which has been operating since 1794. Every sip gives you a sense of the area. Its “West Highland” style is shaped by the coastal air, providing a link between the lighter Highland profile and the smoky island malts.
In order to preserve the spirit’s inherent depth without being overpowered by wood, this single malt is aged for 14 years in oak casks, primarily refill American oak. Bright citrus, pear, and a hint of sea salt will be evident in the nose. You taste rich dried fruit, malt, honeyed spice, and a subtle hint of smoke when you take a sip.
